Our workshop speakers and presenters provide the latest and most up to date approaches in teaching, technology and best practices. Workshops provide the latest in technology and research related to physical activity, human movement and physical education. Experience heart rate monitoring systems, activity trackers, wearable devices, fitness tracking software, as well as other state of the art lab and field based applications in human movement.
CPDU's are available for workshop attendance and are only awarded for participants attending ALL workshop sessions and activities (no partial CPDU credit will be authorized). The actual number of CPDU's, final approval and authorization of CPDU's is handled via the Regional Office of Education. We offer two types of workshops:
SUMMER WORKSHOP: Our summer workshops typically occur over 2 or 3 days with a variety of speakers and topics presented. The summer workshops usually run from 8:30-4:00 PM each day of the workshop and range between 10-20 CPDU's depending on the number of workshop days. Our summer workshops represent a commitment and an ongoing effort to provide education, outreach and professional development to teachers and professionals interested in learning and developing innovative and impactful approaches in teaching. The summer workshops are open to teachers, professionals and students and provide a variety of topic areas that integrate exercise science, health, wellness and disease prevention into physical education.
WEEKEND WORKSHOPS: The weekend workshops are one day events that usually last for 4 to 6 hours and have a specific focus and topic with usually only 1 or 2 speakers. Most weekend workshops are held on Saturdays throughout the school year and typically run from 9 AM to 3 PM with a lunch break (lunch not provided). For the weekend workshop the CPDU's range between 4-6 depending on the workshop. These workshops are specific in focus so participants can develop and master the skills and content being presented. The weekend workshops are open to teachers, professionals and students and provide a variety of topic areas that integrate exercise science, health, wellness and disease prevention into physical education.
This two-day workshop will provide professional development opportunities to teachers and professionals interested in learning and developing innovative and impactful approaches to strengthen and expand their PE program. Learn strategies with hands-on approaches, computer training to better use data within your program, and hear about best practices from a variety of speakers. The workshop’s agenda will be updated as it is finalized.
This one-day weekend workshop, on Saturday, October 19th, 2019 from 8:30-3:30 will provide professional development to teachers and professions interested in learning and developing innovative and impactful approaches to strengthen expand their PE program. Learn strategies with hands-on computer usage to better use data within your program. This workshop will focus on the use of Excel for data management in Physical Education. This one-day workshop will provide a better understanding of program design, development and implementation.
